Procurement & Lifecycle

Buying hardware isn't the same as securing it.

Anyone can order a firewall from a catalogue. We source physical goods through authorised channels, verify the firmware, harden every build in staging, and track each asset on a live register until the day it is securely retired — with the licensed software to match.

The reseller catalogue problem

A firewall is only as trustworthy as its supply chain.

Most providers treat procurement as a purchase decision: pick a model, place the order, move on. Supply-chain integrity, firmware verification and lifecycle records are a different discipline — and the one that decides whether the device protects you.

  • Stock ordered from whichever reseller quoted cheapest that quarter — provenance never questioned.
  • Firmware left at whatever version was on the box the day it was packed.
  • No asset register: nobody can say what is on the network, or when it falls out of vendor support.
  • Warranty and vendor escalations left for your staff to chase after something has already failed.

Chain of custody

From purchase order to retirement.

Four stages. Every device on the record at each of them. Select a stage to see what happens — and what a typical provider skips.

Vetted channels. Verified provenance.

  • Firewalls, endpoints and network appliances quoted through authorised distribution only — no grey-market stock, no ambiguous provenance.
  • Serial numbers logged at order, so the chain of custody starts before the box ships.
  • Vendor relationships held directly by GMAN — pricing, escalation paths and RMA terms agreed before you commit to anything.

What a typical provider skips

Ordering from whichever reseller quoted cheapest that quarter, with no record of where the stock actually came from.

Software licensing

Licensed software, procured with the same discipline.

A licence is procurement too. Seats are sourced through the same vendor relationships, tied to the same asset register, and reconciled against the people who actually work for you — so protection never lapses at renewal.

  • EDREndpoint detection & response seatsEnterprise EDR licensed per endpoint and deployed against the asset register — coverage is checked against real headcount, not last year's invoice.
  • EMAILEmail security licensingDedicated filtering and impersonation defence over your mail tenancy, licensed and tuned by the team that answers when something gets through.
  • BACKUPBackup & recovery licensingImmutable backup licensing per device and per tenancy — with restores rehearsed, because a licence is not a recovery.

Every seriallogged from purchase order to certified destruction — provenance, firmware and warranty on the record

Every line above is checked on a schedule and logged — not asserted once at onboarding and forgotten.

What's included

Sourced, hardened, tracked.

Every line below is managed end-to-end — from the purchase order to the day a device is securely retired. Quoted per build, on enquiry.

Hardware & Licensing — Inclusions Ledger

  1. Enterprise firewalls, endpoints and network appliances, sourced and vettedSelected against a security and reliability standard, quoted through authorised channels only.
  2. Firmware verification at intakeEvery device flashed to the approved release and validated before it leaves staging.
  3. Hardened configuration before deliveryBuilt to the GMAN baseline — default credentials removed, unused services closed, management plane locked.
  4. Live asset register with end-of-life trackingModel, serial, firmware, warranty and end-of-support date — visible before any of them becomes a finding.
  5. Licensed software under the same registerEDR seats, email security and backup licensing, reconciled quarterly against real headcount.
  6. Managed vendor and warranty supportEscalations and RMAs handled on your behalf, through one accountable team.
  7. Secure disposal and certified data destructionRetired devices are wiped and destroyed to a documented standard, with the register closed out.
Operational excellence

The work, on the record. Anonymised, never embellished.

Case file · Growing Construction Group · Regional Victoria · redacted

Nineteen devices, and no one could say what half of them were.

  • Firewalls from three different vendors, none configured past factory defaults — two still on the firmware they shipped with years earlier.
  • Two switches out of vendor support for more than two years, unnoticed by anyone.
  • No purchase records, no serials, no register — nobody could say what was on the network, let alone when to replace it.

The fleet was rationalised onto vetted, hardened standard builds with a live asset register — reviewed with the client every quarter since.
